Tariki is a small settlement along state highway 3 and consists of a couple of houses a bowling club and a sports bar.

History

The area around Tariki was surveyed in the 1880s by Edwin Brookes. He recorded the small Maori kainga (village) of Tariki – one of the few known kainga in the forested area east of the mountain.

Tariki is 10 kilometres south of Inglewood on state highway 3 and twelve kilometres north from Stratford
