Purangi Kiwi formerly the East Taranaki Environment Trust (ETET) is a registered charitable trust dedicated to enhancing kiwi habitat through pest management in East Taranaki. Since 2005, ETET has enabled kiwi numbers to grow by reducing the number of stoats, possums, feral goats, cats and hedgehogs. As well as Kiwi there are New Zealand Falcons, Pekapeka long tail native bats and Kokako. There is 13,000 hectares of land within the project area, which is home to over 500 pair of kiwi.
